Mr. Paul G. Rumple, 86 of the Todd community died Monday morning at the Segraves Care Center in Jefferson, NC. Mr. Rumple was born March 28. 1919 to Lester and Cora H. Rumple. He was married to Eunice Morrison Rumple in 1941. Mr. Rumple served in the US ARMY Air CORPS from 1941-1945. He was 1949 graduate of the Gupton College of Funeral Service. He was manager of the FCX in West Jefferson from 1953-1965. In 1973, Mr. Rumple joined the staff of Badger Funeral Home where he served until his retirement in 1993. In his retirement years, Mr. Rumple enjoyed gardening and working on his farm in Todd, NC. He was an active member of the Jefferson United Methodist Church.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday afternoon at 2:00 PM at the Jefferson United Methodist Church by the Rev. Dr. Keith Franklin, Pastor. The burial will follow at Ashelawn Memorial Gardens in Jefferson. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 7:00 -8:30 at Badger Funeral Home in West Jefferson.
In addition to his wife of 64 years, Mrs. Eunice M. Rumple, Mr. Rumple is survived by two sons: Jeffery Rumple of Delaware, Rodney Rumple of Winston-Salem; one daughter: Theresa Storie of Boone, NC, special granddaughter Windy Angely of the home; seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren also survive.
