Paul Testerman

Mr. Paul Testerman, age 94, passed away January 23, 2015, surrounded by his family, at Caldwell Memorial Hospital in Lenoir, North Carolina.
Mr. Testerman was born in Ashe County, N.C. on March 9, 1920 to Avery and Maggie Lee Jones Testerman.
Mr. Paul Testerman always made those around him smile. As a longtime resident of Ashe County, he was known by many as a gifted man of many trades: a homebuilder, woodworker, farmer, fisherman and beekeeper. Mr. Testerman lived his final years at Ashe Assisted Living, where he enjoyed the company of others, and the caring staff.
Mr. Testerman was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 59 years, Emma Ella Hall Testerman, an infant daughter Katherine Elizabeth, and siblings Jones, Carl, Gene, Gwyn and Jack Testerman. He is survived by his four children: Roger (Margaret) Testerman of Georgetown, IN; June (Donald) Ashbaugh of Temple, GA; Michael (Elaine) Testerman of Vilas, NC; Diane Bowman of Royal Oak, MI; 14 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings: Reba Rash of Creston, Hazel Roark and Helen Roark of West Jefferson, Virgil Testerman of DE, Anna Lee Goss of Jefferson, and Gladys Connolly of Charlotte.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at 2:00 pm at the Ashelawn Memorial Chapel by Rev. Tom Stuart and Preacher Evan Roten. Burial will follow in Ashelawn Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 pm to 2:00 pm on Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel.
