Polly Anna Phillips Eller

Polly Anna Phillips Eller, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 9, 2025, in Concord, North Carolina, at the age of 94. Born on August 28, 1930, in Ashe County, North Carolina, she was the daughter of Pastor Eugene Phillips and Mildred Roark Phillips.

Polly's life was characterized by her strong faith and devotion to her family. A dedicated member of Valley Home Baptist Church, she cherished her relationship with the Lord and found great solace in reading her Bible. Her deep love for her family was evident in everything she did. Polly held the title of matriarch, nurturing her family with warmth and kindness throughout her life.

She is survived by her son, Donnie Lane Eller Sr. of Todd; daughters, Leona Kay Marholz (Tim) of Creston and Judy Lynne Wisniewski of Coatsville, Pennsylvania; sister, Suzie Swartzentruber of Parksburg, Pennsylvania; and brothers, Roger Phillips of Coatsville, Pennsylvania, and Dean Phillips of Delaware. In addition, her legacy continues through her ten grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Polly is now reunited with her late husband, Pastor Warren G. Eller, and her beloved parents. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Thomas Truitt, Derial, Joseph, and Henry Phillips; sisters, Joyce Martin and Jacqueline "Jackie" Roark; her grandchild, Donnie Lane Eller Jr.; and an infant sibling.

Outside of her family and faith, Polly enjoyed a variety of activities that brought her joy. She had a passion for gardening and canning, often delighting in the fruits of her labor. A lover of nature, Polly relished fishing and had a special fondness for animals. Her affinity for yard sales provided her with many treasures and stories to share with loved ones, and her love of reading remained a lifelong pursuit.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, March 22, 2025 at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel by Pastor Ken Holmes and Rev. Jimmy Williams. The family will have a fellowship meal following the service at Ashelawn.  Burial will follow in the Ruben Jones Cemetery in Todd.  The family will receive friends from 12:00 - 1:00 pm prior to the service.

As we remember Polly Anna Phillips Eller, we celebrate a life well-lived, marked by unwavering faith, boundless love for her family, and a spirit that touched countless lives. She will be dearly missed but cherished in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
