Ray Dale Stike

Ray Dale Stike age 88 of West Jefferson died Saturday, September 2, 2017 at Ashe Assisted Living Center. Mr. Stike was born in Ashe County on April 26, 1929 to Willie Moses and Hattie Turnmire Stike. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Annie Medley Stike, son, Donald Craig Stike, brother, Riley Alfred Stike, daughter, Linda Sue Stike Mullis and granddaughter, Teresa Lynn Mullis.  Mr. Stike was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church and enjoyed attending when his health allowed.  Ray took joy in watching and sometimes even feeding wildlife around him.  The family would like to thank his caregivers and the staff at Ashe Assisted Living Center for their care they provided to Ray.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday at 2:00 PM at Badger Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. J.D. Walton, Rev. Tommy Dollar and Rev. Lloyd Day. Burial will follow in the Turner cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:30-9:00 PM on Wednesday at Badger Funeral Home.

Mr. Stike is survived by: granddaughter, Susie Walton and husband Jeff of West Jefferson, grandson, David Mullis, Jr. of West Jefferson, stepson, John Medley, step granddaughter, Cathy Kelly, son in-law and caregiver, David Mullis of Jefferson, caregiver, Norma Miller of Lansing, brothers, Howard Stike of Warrensville, Lee Stike of West Jefferson, Paul Stike, and Fred Stike both of Warrensville sisters, Gay Turnmire of Warrensville and Mae Medley of Warrensville; 2 great-grandchildren, 3 step great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.

The family is meeting at the home of John and Mae Medley 3999, NC Hwy. 88W, Warrensville.
