Rev. Bill Hampton Day

Rev. Bill Hampton Day, age 77 of West Jefferson, passed away Sunday, July 10, 2022 at Ashe Memorial Hospital.  Mr. Day was born September, 23, 1944 in Ashe County to the late Howard and Faye Jones Day.  In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by daughter, Pamela Day, sisters, Loretta Virginia Day and Joann Day Walters and brother, Jerry Lee Day.  Bill was an ordained minister for over 30 years and pastored several churches.  He was a hard working man and enjoyed going out West fishing.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, July 15, 2022 at Badger Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Lloyd Day.  Rev. Day will lie in state from 1:00 - 2:00 pm prior to the service. Burial will follow in the Jefferson Cemetery with military rites. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 pm Thursday, July 14th at Badger Funeral Home.

Rev. Day is survived by his wife of almost 60 years, Flossie Patrick Day, sons, Marvin Day and wife Mendy and Alvin Day and wife Gail all of West Jefferson, brothers, Kenneth Allen Day and Gwyn Day both of West Jefferson, sister, Janet Day of West Jefferson, 5 grandchildren, Amber Lenderman and husband, Jeff, Briana Roten and husband, Nathan, Whitney Hendry and husband, Christian, Tyler Day and Tanner Day. 8 great-grandchildren, Colton and Benson Roten, Coeyn and Diesel Hendry, Kenlie and Chloe Day, Jace Woodward and Rom Lenderman.  Several nieces and nephews also survive .
