Rev. Rev. Johnny Albert Johnson age 45, of Lansing, died on Saturday, January 24, 2015 at Ashe Memorial Hospital. Rev. Johnson was born on January 5, 1970 in Ashe County to Maynard and Edna Shepherd Johnson. Rev. Johnson was preceded in death by his father, Maynard Johnson and brother, Bobby Johnson. He enjoyed woodworking, painting, hunting, fishing and singing. Rev. Johnson was currently serving as pastor of Bethel Baptist Church in Lansing, where he had served since 2005. Johnny had a love for his family and a love for the Lord. But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. Isaiah 40:31.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at 2:00 pm at Badger Funeral Home Chapel by Minister Daniel Peak. Burial will follow in Powers Family Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm on Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at Badger Funeral Home.
Rev. Johnson is survived by: his wife, Geneva Johnson, mother, Edna Mae Johnson of Lansing, brother, Fred Johnson of Lansing, and two nephews, Jeremy Johnson, Chris Johnson.
