Robert “Bob” Lee Davis

Robert Lee Davis, better known as Bob, age 93 of Lansing passed away on Saturday, January 11, 2025 at his home. Mr. Davis was born in Ashe County, North Carolina on January 5, 1932 to the late Bruner James and Bina Mayberry Davis. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Rolin “Buck” Davis and wife Mary Stansberry Davis and two brothers-in-law, Fred Carter and Ralph Woodie.

Bob selflessly served our country in the Air Force four years. After his service, he came home and continued with the same dedication and honor serving his family and community. He worked at Sprague Electric/United Chemi-con for 33 years, retiring, having made lifelong friendships. He loved the Lord, his family, and his friends with all his heart.

He had a passion for farming, raising cattle, and taking care of all animals. He was an active member of Creekside Christian Church. He was always ready and willing to step up and help, not only the congregation, but also the entire community of Helton. 

We are all so thankful for Bob‘s life and the quiet example he set for all of us.

Mr. Davis is survived by his wife, Alene Vannoy Davis, three sons, Jeffery Lee Davis, Thomas Mark Davis (Laneice), Brantley Jospeh Davis (Summer) all of Lansing, two sisters, Mary Nell Carter, Alta Ann Harless (Garrel Dean) both of West Jefferson, sister-in-law, Mary Woodie of Statesville; also surviving are two grandchildren, Kaleb Davis, Mollie Payne (Bryson), great-grandson, Max Payne and several nieces, nephews and cousins. 

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 16, 2025 at 1:00pm at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel by Rev. Casey McKenna, Rev. Dwight Shepherd and Rev. Jonathan Stansberry.  Burial will follow in the Helton Community Cemetery with military rites. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 5:00-7:00pm at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel.
