Robert Grogan

Robert "Vernie" Grogan, age 87 of Jefferson died Saturday, November 29, 2003 at the Ashe Living Center.

Mr. Grogan was born on March 23, 1916 in Ashe County to the Late William Henry Grogan and Julia Etta Black Grogan. He married Maggie Hazel Grogan who preceded him in death on October 23, 2003. Mr. Grogan was a friendly, outgoing person, a hard worker, and was always willing to help others.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, December 2, 2003 at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel. Rev. J.D. Walton, Rev. Robert Miller and Rev. Jim Rash will officiate. Burial will follow in Woodford Cemetery in Todd. Mr. Grogan will lie in state from 1 - 2 P.M. Tuesday in the Chapel.

Survivors include:
2 brothers: John Grogan of West Jefferson
Roy Grogan of Watauga County
1 sister: Agnus Bryant of Watauga County
Niece: Sylvia Hopkins of West Jefferson
And several nieces and nephews.
