Robert Wallace Steele "Bob"

Robert Wallace Steele, affectionately known as Bob, of Jefferson, North Carolina passed away on Sunday, January 21, 2024 at his home. Bob was born on September 29, 1948, in Baltimore, Maryland to the late Russell and Florence Johnson Steele.  In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by a sister, Darla.

Bob lived a life full of passion and simple pleasures. He found joy in the outdoors, spending countless hours golfing and fishing. His love for sports was evident as he enthusiastically cheered on his favorite basketball and football teams. A man of faith, Bob found solace and community in attending Wagoner Baptist Church.

In his professional life, Bob dedicated many years to Publix, where he forged lasting connections with colleagues and customers alike. Upon retiring, he embarked on a new chapter in Ashe County, North Carolina. There, he continued to make a positive impact as the manager of a local Wendy's and later as a driver for ACTA.

Beyond his professional achievements, Bob will be remembered as a loving and devoted husband and his departure leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

Mr. Steele is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Louise Coldiron Steele, two daughters, Kim Smith and Robin Brochu both of Florida, one brother, Rusty Steele of Texas and two grandchildren, Ryan and Shane Smith and two step-grandchildren, Derek and Darren Green. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, January 25, 2024 at 12:00pm at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel by Rev. David Blackburn.  Burial will follow in the Colvard Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00am-12:00pm one hour prior to the service.
