Robert "Bob" Lee Richardson

Robert Lee Richardson, better known as Bob, age 55 of Lansing, died Saturday, December 12, 2020 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. Mr. Richardson was born February 5, 1965 in Havre de Grace, MD to Franklin Dean and Mable “Skippy” Sturgis Richardson.

Bob was an amazing father and a devoted husband.  He was a friend to everyone he met and loved being outdoors whether he was hunting, fishing or trapping.  He loved learning about the land, it's history and plants.  He enjoyed exploring the mountains and was a believer of hard work.  Bob had many interests but valued a simple life and the old ways of doing things.  He flint-knapped knives just as the Indians did.  In addition to being a mountain man he was also musically gifted.  He was an artist, writer and poet.  He was the type of son who checked on his parents everyday and to take care of them just as they had taken care of him.  Bob's wife was the love of his life, his daughter was his precious little girl, his oldest was his inspiration and his youngest son was his best friend.  He loved the Lord and served him by singing in church every chance he had.  He knew when his time on Earth was finished he would be safe and secure in his savior's arms for eternity.

Mr. Richardson will also lie in state from 1:00 - 3:00 pm Friday, December 18, 2020 at Badger Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be held at 6:00 pm Saturday, December 19, 2020 at Silas Creek Baptist Church by Elder Lundy Finley, Rev. Corey Richardson and Rev. Fred Richardson.

Mr. Richardson is survived by, his wife, Teresa Hardin Richardson, two sons, Rev. Corey Jones Richardson of Lansing & Wesley Jacob Richardson of Jefferson, one daughter, Emily Jane Cornett and husband Travis of West Jefferson, his parents, Franklin Dean and Mable “Skippy” Richardson of Lansing, two brothers, Steve Allen Richardson and wife Joy and Richard “Rick” Dean Richardson and wife Debbie all of Lansing, one sister, Susan Adell Gilley and husband David of Lansing, 4 grandchildren, Traythan, Carter, Aiden and Angel. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

The family will be meeting at his parent’s home at 361 Big Piney Creek Rd. in Lansing.
