Roger Roark

Roger Roark, age 85 of Jefferson, died Monday, September 15, 2003 at the Ashe Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Roark was born on June 29, 1918, son of the late Harvey and Susie Bare Roark. He married Jacqueline Miller on June 29, 1946 in Ashe County.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Jesse Roark and two sisters, Sarah Roark and Julie Roark Lefler. Mr. Roark was an avid beekeeper.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, September 18, 2003 at the Ashelawn Memorial Chapel. Rev. Leon Miller, Rev. Lawrence Goodman and Speaker Jamie Denny will officiate. Burial will follow in Ashelawn Memorial Gardens, where full military honors will be conducted by the ROTC, VFW, American Legion and D.A.V. The family will receive friends from 7 - 9 P.M. Wednesday at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel.
