Ronald "Ron" Keith Vannoy

Mr. Ronald Keith Vannoy, better known as Ron, age 62 of Jefferson, died on Thursday, November 22, 2018 at Ashe Memorial Hospital. Mr. Vannoy was born on August 14, 1956 in Ashe County to Ward Vannoy and Barbara Lyall Vannoy.

Mr. Vannoy worked as a probation officer for the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Department. He loved animals and always cared for strays. He enjoyed taking care of others and cared for his elderly aunts and uncles. He liked to travel. He was a hard worker all his life.

Mr. Vannoy is survived by:  his parents, Ward and Barbara Lyall Vannoy of Jefferson; one sister, Pam Hudler and husband Bobby of Texas; two nieces, Emily Hudler and Kelly Hudler Carroll and husband Will; two great-nieces, Kensington Carroll and Ellington Carroll.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 24, 2018 at 12:00 pm at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel by Rev. Doug Halsey and Rev. Cory Halsey. Burial will follow in Ashelawn Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm on Saturday, November 24, 2018 at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Fletcher Memorial Baptist Youth, P.O. Box 65, Jefferson, NC 28640.
