Ronnie Ellison

Ronald "Ronnie" Gary Ellison, age 46, of the Willow Place Group Home died Monday, June 30, 2003 at his brother's home in West Jefferson under the care of Hospice.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, July 2, 2003 11:00 A.M. at the Ashelawn Memorial Chapel in Jefferson with Minister Tim Canup and Minister Milton Mathers officiating. Interment will follow in the Potter-Maine Cemetery in Todd. The family will receive friends from 7:00 - 9:00 P.M. Tuesday at the Ashelawn Memorial Chapel.

Mr. Ellison was born in Watauga County on March 12, 1957 to the late Samuel and Nancy Potter Ellison. He was baptized at the Church of Christ Church while living in Maryland. He loved assisting at the Spruce Haven House in Jefferson and enjoyed listening to 70's music. He was preceded in death by two brothers, David and Jimmy Ellison, and one sister, Ella Mae Bare.

Survivors include:

Four Brothers: Roy Ellison, Willard Ellison, Kelly Ellison, all of West Jefferson, and Jerry Ellison of Lynchburg, VA.

Three Sisters: Holiveen Cooper of Hickory, Eleene Michael of Mountain City, and Louetta Stacy of Lynchburg, VA.

Several nieces and nephews

Ronnie also felt that the residents and staff of Willow Place Group Home were part of his family.
