Ronnie Glenn King, age 70, of West Jefferson, passed away peacefully on June 8, 2024. Born on October 4, 1953, in Ashe County, NC, Ronnie was the beloved son of the late Charles Arthur and Adron Howell King.
Ronnie is survived by his devoted wife, Angelee Shepherd King, who was his steadfast companion in life. He is also survived by his Godson, B.J. Howell, nieces Jennifer Price and Emily Price, nephew Michael Price, and great-nephew Camden Woods.
A man of simple pleasures, Ronnie found great joy in feeding and watching the birds, and he was an avid fan of western movies and TV shows. He loved gardening and spent many peaceful hours tending to his plants. His faithful dog, Annie, was always by his side, bringing him immense happiness.
Ronnie was a member of Pleasant Chapel Baptist Church, where he delighted in sharing the gospel with everyone he met. His faith was a cornerstone of his life, and he was known for his warm, welcoming spirit and his eagerness to spread the message of love and hope.
Professionally, Ronnie worked for the Dr. Pepper Bottling Company and later for Triangle Vending in West Jefferson, where he was respected and admired by his colleagues for his hard work and dedication.
Ronnie’s kind heart, gentle nature, and unwavering faith left a lasting impression on all who knew him. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and community.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, June 16, 2024 at 4:00 pm at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel by Minister David Lyalls and Rev. Dennis Poe.
The family will receive friends from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm prior to the service.
