Roy Roger Church

Roy Roger Church, age 82, of Jefferson and North Fort Myers passed away Thursday, December 23, 2021 at his home in North Fort Myers, Florida.
Mr. Church, also known as Cowboy, was born in Ashe County on December 14, 1939 to the late Charlie Clifford and Fannie Pearl Parsons Church. Roy was a proud member of the Beaver Creek High School Class of 1957.  He joined the Air Force at age 17 and served five years. He went on to work and retire from Bethlehem Steel Company in Baltimore, Maryland.  He returned to Ashe County after retirement and eventually decided to spend winters in Florida. He enjoyed attending local music events, working on clocks, going to FL swap meets, and reading. Roy remained extremely positive throughout his nineteen year battle with cancer. He will be missed by friends & family.

Mr. Church is survived by: his wife, Linda Spencer Church, two sisters, Brenda Oliver, of Fleetwood and Janet Dirks, of Torrance, California; also surviving are several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by brothers, Charles Stewart Church and Robert “Bobby” Everett Church.

Memorial Services will be held at a later date.
