Roy Fred Rash

Roy Fred Rash, age 72 of West Jefferson passed away on Wednesday, November 23, 2022 at Ashe Memorial Hospital.  Roy was born on May 12, 1950 in Ashe County, North Carolina to the late Roby Eugene and Hazel Latham Rash.  In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.

Roy worked in the saw milling business since he was 16 years old.  He loved being outdoors and enjoyed riding motorcycles and his dune buggy.  Roy loved animals, he and his wife Sue have fostered and rescued many animals over the years.

Mr. Rash is survived by his wife, Sue Williams Rash, one son, Danny Rash and wife, Betty of Millers Creek, one sister, Judy Holman and husband Wayne of Lansing, two step-grandchildren, Heather Peters and Nathan Barker, three step-great-grandchildren, Hadley and Harper Peters and Silas Barker and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Graveside Services will be held on Tuesday, November 29, 2022 at 1:00pm at Ashelawn Memorial Gardens by Rev. Frank Rash and Rev. Lloyd Day.  Per the family’s request please wear a mask if attending the services.
