Mr. Roy John Woodard, age 91 of Creston, NC died Saturday, May 17, 2003 at his residence. Funeral Services will be held Sunday, May 18, 2003 3:00 P.M. at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel in Jefferson, NC with Rev. Lloyd Day officiating. Interment will follow in Ashelawn Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Woodard was born in Ashe County, NC August 19, 1911 to John Wesley and Allie Taylor Woodard. He was a retired Civil Engineer with the State of North Carolina and was preceded in death by his wife Josephine "Josie" Woodard.
Survivors include:
Two sons - Paul and Jerry Woodard of Creston, NC
Two daughters - Vyann Pennington and Patsy Allen of Creston, NC
Two step daughters - Wilma Sturgill and Opal Pennington of Creston, NC
Eight grandchildren, five step grandchildren, five great grandchildren, five step great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews also survive.
