Ruby Barker

Mrs. Ruby Emma King Barker age 93 of Lansing, NC, passed away Monday, February 27, 2006 at Segraves Care Center. She was born September 20, 1912, the youngest child of James T. and Evelyn J. King. She was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, F.L. Barker, Sr. two sons, F.L. Barker, Jr. and James D. Barker and four brothers and three sisters. Survivors include one daughter, Kathy Parks, and husband Buddy of Lewisville, NC and two daughters in law, Clara S. Barker of Boone, NC and Earlene L. Barker of West Jefferson, NC. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Kim Quinn and husband Charles and Cindy Barr and husband Greg of Boone, NC, Alice Mitchell and husband Matt of Mooresville, NC and Buddy Barker and wife Nicole of Blowing Rock, NC; eight great grandchildren; one sister Mary K. Felty of Marion, VA and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 P.M. Sunday, March 5, 2006 at Phoenix Baptist Church by Rev. Kenneth Morris and Rev. Larry Powers. Burial will be held in Ashelawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00 P.M. Sunday in the church fellowship hall prior to the funeral service.
