Ruby Brown Hamm, age 91, of Lansing, NC died on Friday, November 20, 2009 at Ashe Memorial Hospital in Jefferson, NC. Mrs. Hamm was born on July 6, 1918 in Creston Ashe, NC to the late Harrison and Jennie Lynn Johnson Brown. Mrs. Hamm was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Elihu Hamm. She was a member of Sabbath Home Baptist Church. She was very active in the church and served as secretary for many years. Ruby enjoyed working in her garden and singing in church. Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 23, 2009 at 2:00 PM at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel by Rev. Dan Hess, Rev. Dennis Poe, and speaker Ed Hall. Burial will follow in Ashelawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM on Monday, November 23, 2009 at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel. Mrs. Hamm is survived by: one son - Tommy Hamm and wife Martha of Lansing, NC; one sister - Ruth Patrick of Aberdeen, MD; one granddaughter - Dana Holbrook of Wilkesboro, NC; one grandson - Wesley Hamm of Lansing, NC; one great grandson - Mathew Holbrook of Wilkesboro, NC; one great granddaughter - Kenzie Holbrook of Wilkesboro, NC. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
