Ruby Lee Lane, age 80 of High Point, NC, formerly of West Jefferson, NC died Tuesday, August 5, 2003 at the High Point Regional Health System.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:30 p.m.on Saturday, August 9, 2003 at the Ashelawn Memorial Chapel. Rev. J. Kennith Morris will officiate. Burial will follow in the Ashelawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. Saturday until the time of service in the chapel.
Mrs. Lane was born on February 17, 1923 in Brownwood, TX, daughter of the late Earl and Elsie Fisher Horton. She married Otho Glendal Lane on July 5, 1940 in Las Vegas, NV. She was an active member of WMU and a Sunday school teacher at First Baptist Church in West Jefferson. She was also a past president of the West Jefferson Women's Club and the Mountain Aire Ladies Golf Association.
Survivors include: her husband, Otho "Glen" Lane of High Point,Daughters: Janice Lee Snider (husband Gary) of High Point;Glenda Skinner (husband Max) of Morganton; Susan Marie Bard (husband Mike) of Crumpler; Brother: Earl Horton, Jr. of Lubbock, Texas; Sisters: Edith Lanham of Lubbock,Texas; Betty Sue Johnston of Springdale, AR; 8 Grandchildren, 4 Great Grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
