Ruby Pennington

Mrs. Ruby Maye Pennington, age 87, of Warrensville, NC died on Monday, January 3, 2011 at Segraves Care Center in Jefferson, NC. Mrs. Pennington was born on April 21, 1923 in Ashe County, NC to the late W.E. Maye and Ethel Eldreth Maye. Mrs. Pennington was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Clinton Pennington, and a daughter, Mary Lucille Weaver. Mrs. Pennington was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church. She was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 5, 2011 at 7:00 PM at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel by Rev. Tommy Dollar. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Wednesday, January 5, 2011 prior the funeral service at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel. Burial will be held Thursday, January 6, 2011 at 11:00 AM at Ashelawn Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Pennington is survived by: 2 Grandsons - Tony Weaver and wife Brenda of Warrensville, NC, and Billy Weaver and wife Grace of Warrensville, NC; 2 Sisters - Bobbie Lewis of West Jefferson, NC, and Virginia "Jenny" Rogers of South Carolina; also surviving are several great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
