Ruby J. Miller

Mrs. Ruby J. Miller, age 93 of West Jefferson, died on Saturday, October 5, 2019 at Margate Health and Rehab. Mrs. Miller was born on June 5, 1926 in Wilkes County to John McCoy Miller and Callie Bare Miller. She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters; Lori Severt, Ora Mash, and Goldie Roten; two brothers, Howard Miller and Franklin Miller.

Mrs. Miller enjoyed quilting, crocheting, gardening, flowers, and canning. She was an excellent homemaker and cook. She was a member of Glendale Springs Baptist Church and loved her church family.

Mrs. Miller is survived by:  her husband, Ralph Miller; son, Perry Miller and wife Kathy of Statesville; daughter, Dianne Gendron and husband Dan of Boone; sisters, Zula Severt of Glendale Springs and Eva Johnson of Winston Salem; five grandchildren, Christy Phillips Grill and Donovan Phillips, both of Boone, Tate Phillips of Charlotte, Branson Phillips of Dawsonville, GA, and Kinnan Johnson of Statesville; also surviving are six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 10, 2019 at 2:00 pm at Glendale Springs Baptist Church by Pastor Ricky Triplett. Burial will follow in the Glendale Springs Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm on Thursday, October 10, 2019 prior to the service at the church.
