Russell L. Trembly, better known as Russ of Warrensville, North Carolina passed away on Saturday, September 21, 2024 at the age of 88. Mr. Trembly was born on September 17, 1936 in Wood County, West Virginia to the late Earl Breckinridge and Edna Morris Trembly. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by one brother Glenn Trembly.
Russ served his country in the United States Air Force, demonstrating his commitment to service and duty. After his time in the military, he continued his passion for innovation and discovery by working closely with NASA before his retirement.
Mr. Trembly and his wife, Janet were members and attended West Jefferson United Methodist Church, where his kindness and fellowship were deeply cherished. In his quiet moments, Russ could often be found with a book in hand, as reading was one of his favorite pass times.
Mr. Trembly is survived by his wife, Janet Trembly of Warrensville, two daughters, Brenda Smith and husband, Robert of West Jefferson and Andrea Trembly of Jacksonville, FL, one sister, Betty L. Hendrickson of Ohio, two grandsons, Patrick Smith and wife, Rebekah of Lexington and Chase Smith and wife, Sara of Advance. Also surviving are four great-grandchildren, Kaelyn, Braeden, Penelope and Theodore.
A private memorial service for Russ’ family to honor his life will take place at his church.
Russ leaves behind a legacy of service, knowledge, and faith. He will be missed by all who knew him. His memory will continue to inspire those whose lives he touched.
