Mrs. Ruth Ham, age 83 of Grassy Creek died on Monday, April 13, 2015 at Margate Health and Rehab in Jefferson. Mrs. Ham was born on August 27, 1931 in Wilkes County, NC to Barney Watson and Pearl Ulayla Walker Crabb. Mrs. Ham was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Elmer Ham, sister, Ruby Crouse, sister, Rosalee Johnson, brother, Dean Crabb, and stepson, Raymond Ham. Mrs. Ham was a homemaker and a member of Scottville Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 16, 2015 at 2:00 pm at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel by Rev. Herb Parunak. Burial will follow in Ashelawn Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm on Thursday, April 16, 2015 at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel.
Mrs. Ham is survived by: Son, Keith Ham of Grassy Creek, Sister, Virginia Ashburn of State Road, Brother, Vaughn Crabb of High Point, Stepdaughter, Yvonne Blevins of Grassy Creek, Stepdaughter, Sarah Benson of Florida, Stepson, Berman Ham of Georgia, Stepson, Sammy Ham of Florida, Stepson, Conley Ham of Sparta; also surviving are 15 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Flowers will be appreciated, or memorials may be made to the Scottville Baptist Church.
