Ruth Roark

Mrs. Ruth Gladys Brown Roark age 88, of Creston, died on Thursday, June 28, 2012 at her Residence. Mrs. Roark was born on September 25, 1923 in Ashe County, NC to Wilson F. and Maggie Roten Brown. Mrs. Roark was preceded in death by her parents, husband, French Roark, brothers, Bill Brown and Joe Brown. Mrs. Roark loved to garden, read, and spend time in the outdoors. She especially loved spending time with her family. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 30, 2012 at 4:00 pm at the Badger Funeral Home by Rev. Tommy Dollar. Burial will follow in Brown Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm on Saturday, June 30, 2012 at Badger Funeral Home.  Mrs. Roark is survived by: one son, Gary Roark of Statesville, NC, two daughter, Margaret Holman and Ruby Lewis both of Creston, one brother, George Brown of Graham, NC, one sister, Ruby Osborne of West Jefferson, also surviving are 6 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
