Ruth Severt

Ruth Miller Severt, age 89 of Jefferson, died Tuesday, January 27, 2004 at the Ashe Living Center. Mrs. Severt was born November 3, 1914 in Ashe County to the late Charlie and Alice Miller. She was also preceded in death by two sons; Bobby and Joe Charles Severt.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, January 29th at the Badger Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Mace Johnson and Rev. Larry Staples will officiate. Burial will follow in the Orion Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 till 2:00 PM prior to the service. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Orion Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, c/o Lucian Jordan, 190 Cherry St., West Jefferson, NC 28694.

Daughter: Sonja Howell and husband Walter of Lenoir, NC

Sisters: Chessie Bowers of Jefferson, NC and Dare Sells of Taylorsville, NC

Daughter in law: Edith Severt of Jefferson, NC

1 step-grandchild, several nieces and nephews also survive.
