Sally Jones Eldridge age 80 of Creston died on Saturday, December 21, 2019 surrounded by her family at her home. She was born in Warrensville on Friday, March 3, 1939 to the late Carl Benjamin and Ella Handy Jones. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by brothers, Marvin, Wiley, Lum and Carroll Jones, sister, Martha Bennigan, and her husband, George Eldridge. At the age of 9 she attended the NC School for the Blind until her teenage years. Sally was the type of person everyone loved to be around. She liked to travel and spend time with her family, grandchildren and her sisters. Mrs. Eldridge enjoyed working in her flowers. She was a member of Clifton Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 24, 2019 at 12:00 noon at Clifton Baptist Church by Minister David Lyalls and Pastor Jimmy Galgano. Burial will follow in the Welch Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 pm Monday, December 23, 2019 at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel.
Mrs. Eldridge is survived by: four daughters, Myra Osborne of Creston, Ann Combs of Jefferson, Amy Carter and Chrystal Jones both of West Jefferson, three brothers, Frank Jones of Warrensville, Ernie Jones of East Bend, and Lonnie Jones of Jefferson, three sisters, Polly Eastridge of Warrensville, Louise Wingler of Piney Creek and Joyce Medley of Creston; also surviving are six grandchildren, Kristy, Tabatha, Davie, Joshua, Anthony, Evan, seven great-grandchildren, Emma, Trinyti, Xander, Jaxson, Emree, Novyn, Isabella Grace, and several nieces and nephews.
Flowers will be accepted.
The family is meeting at her home, 121 Lazy Branch Lane in Creston.
