Sally Ruth Severt Lyall

Sally Ruth Severt Lyall, age 78, passed away on Friday, November 29, 2024 at Wilkes Health and Rehab. Mrs. Lyall was born on March 7, 1946, in Ashe County, North Carolina to the late Thurman and Sallie Miller Severt. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by four brothers, Leonard Severt, Arvil Severt, Bryant Severt and Earl Severt as well as one sister, Blanche Severt.

Ruth was known for her generous heart and unwavering compassion. She was always ready to help anyone in need, embodying the true meaning of selflessness.

A devoted follower of Christ, her faith was the foundation of her life. She radiated God’s love in all she did. Ruth also found joy and peace in coloring, spending hours bringing vibrant images to life. Her artwork, much like her presence, was a testament to the beauty she brought into the world. She also had a love for flowers, growing and tending to them and even sharing bulbs and plants with others.

She is survived by her husband, Henry (Hack) Harrison Lyall of Jefferson, three brothers, Odell Severt, James Severt and Wayne Severt all of Wilkesboro and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 5, 2024 at 2:00pm at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel by Rev. Charlie Bennett and Rev. Robert Shatley. Burial will follow in the George Miller Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00pm one hour prior to the service at Ashelawn.

Flowers will be accepted. The family respectfully requests no food please.
