Sally Richards, age 76  passed away on August 29, 2024 in Jefferson, North Carolina. She was born on December 25, 1947, in Pearl River, New York. 

Sally was a member of the China Grove First Methodist Church, where she found solace and among her fellow churchgoers. Her faith played a vital role in her life, guiding her actions and nurturing her relationships.

Known for her vibrant personality, Sally had many hobbies and interests that brought joy to her life. She possessed a unique talent for shopping, often referred to as a professional shopper by her family and friends. Sally also had a profound love for gardening, particularly flowers and vegetables, which reflected her nurturing nature and her love for the beauty of the natural world. Among her most treasured companions was her beloved cat, Mimi, who held a special place in her heart.

Sally is survived by her son, Jeffery Richards, and his wife, Stephanie, who reside in Hickory. Additionally, she leaves behind her step-grandchildren, Ian Lynn and McKenna Lynn, Sally’s significant other, Jim Mathews, all of whom cherished their time with Sally and will carry her memory forward.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Robert Kimble “Buck” and Vivian Smith Allen, and her husband, Clyde Deaton Richards. Sally's legacy of love and kindness will forever remain in the hearts of those she has touched throughout her lifetime.

In keeping with her wishes no formal services will be held.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to China Grove First Methodist Church, 110 W. Church St. China Grove, NC 28023.
