Sandra Saxton Cook

Mrs. Sandra Saxton Cook, age 76 of Fleetwood, North Carolina, formerly of Alabama and South Florida, passed away on Friday, October 18, 2019 at Forsyth Medical Center.  Mrs. Cook was born on March 23, 1943 in Bessemer, Alabama to the late Grady Mayfield and Lois Hawkins McCarty.  In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her infant daughter, Karen Tamara Durough.

Sandy enjoyed cooking and baking.  She also loved flowers and animals.  Sandy loved her family very much; she was a proud grandmother and a loving wife.

Mrs. Cook is survived by: her husband, Terry Wayne Cook; daughter, Tina Durough Shunk (Jon) of Alabama, son, Glenn Durough (Bonnie) and grandchildren, Preston and Douglas Durough of Alabama, daughter, Heather Saxton Donnelly (Paul) and step-grandson Stephen Donnelly of West Palm Beach, Florida, three step-children, Troy W. Cook of Florida, Teresa Cook Diddle (Chris) of North Carolina and Terry S. Cook “Seth” (Michelle) of Michigan and two step-grandchildren, Terry and Tommy Cook.  Several other family members from Alabama and South Florida also survive.

A private memorial service for Mrs. Cook will be held at a later date.
