Shane Eugene Baldwin age 50 was embraced with his wife, when he won his battle with pulmonary fibrosis on April 18, 2023.
He is preceded in death by his dad, John Baldwin, his paternal and maternal grandparents, 13 aunts and uncles and his father-in-law, Tommy Stidhams.
Shane is survived by his mother, Shirley Baldwin, his wife, Brandy Baldwin, his sons, Micheal (partner, Megan), Josh (partner, Will), Will (wife, Stephanie), Blake (partner, Brittany) and Dylan; three grandchildren, Callie, John and Scarlett Baldwin; uncle and aunt, Chuck and Pat Eldridge; several friends and cousins also survive.
Shane lived life abundantly. He served in the US Navy in Philadelphia and Norfolk. Shane served in the first gulf war. He was a ship rescue swimmer and a hydraulic mechanic. Shane loved all things sports. He watched, played and discussed them to anyone who would engage. Shane saw most of the world before he was 21 and talked about his adventures. His greatest adventure was being a father, husband, and Paw. Shane was the bravest and strongest man we ever knew, and always expected the best of us. We will miss his stories and look forward to the day in heaven when he tells us stories of his newest adventure. His life motto was “Hakuna Matata: no worries for the rest of my days.”
The family sends special thanks to Dr. Derek McClure and staff at Ashe Family Healthcare and Dr. Kevin Wolfe for standing by Shane over these years and fighting this horrible disease by his side.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 21, 2023 at 2:00 pm at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel by Rev. Steve Ashley, Rev. Tim Jones and Rev. Dustin Farmer. Burial will follow in the Baldwin Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 pm Friday prior to the service.
