Shirley W. Bumgardner

Shirley W. Bumgardner passed away on December 23, 2017. She was the daughter of the late Richard A. and Raye W. Bumgardner. Shirley graduated from the University of North Carolina’s School of Pharmacy in Chapel Hill. She was the owner of Joseph P. Hall Drug Co. in Suffolk, Va. Shirley was an avid “TarHeel” fan and greatly enjoyed bridge games with the “Bridge Ladies of Suffolk”.

Left to cherish her memory are her brother David R. Bumgardner (Martha) of Denver N.C., nephews Dr. Richard C. Bumgardner (Ann)  of Wilmington N.C. and David A. Bumgardner of Denver N.C., niece Melissa B. Yow (Mark) of China Grove N.C., great nephew William Bumgardner and great niece Elizabeth Bumgardner of Wilmington N.C.

The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 pm Saturday, December 30, 2017 at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel. Graveside services will follow in Ashelawn Memorial Gardens by Rev. Daniel Gaddy.

The family request memorial donations be made to the donor’s favorite charity in her honor.
