Shirley Gail Wood was born May 7, 1936 to Earl and Stella Bare Wood. She grew up on Mill Creek Rd in Fleetwood with her brothers Norman, Cecil and WR and her sisters Mae, Sylvia, Mamie, and Ardna—along with all the other family and friends up and down Mill Creek.
Later in life, she married Donald Sheets, who also precedes her in death, and they enjoyed their life on Bare Creek and by the river.
She leaves behind three children: Diana, Dan, and Dawne Houck; two grandchildren: Holli Houck and Harmony Cloninger; and two great grandchildren: Trinity and Jordyn Holley.
Throughout her life, she created amazing needlework from simple dish rags to intricately patterned quilts. She planted gardens and trees and flowers wherever she was, including gladiolus taller than she was.
She was dearly loved and will be remembered and treasured for her tenacity, her laughter, her kindness, and her faith.
Funeral Services will be private.
The family respectfully requests no food or flowers please.
