Shirley "Ann" (Farmer) Calhoun

Shirley Ann Farmer Calhoun, better known as "Ann", age 73 of West Jefferson passed away on Thursday, March 2, 2023 at Forsyth Medical Center.  Shirley was born on November 28, 1949 in Ashe County, North Carolina to the late Elmer Franklin and Lantie Queen Graybeal Farmer.  In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by three brothers, Archie Farmer, Franklin Farmer and Bobby Farmer as well as three infant brothers.

Ann loved to read and work in her flower gardens.

Mrs. Calhoun is survived by her husband, Bud Calhoun, two sons, Derek Lee Calhoun of West Jefferson and David Michael Calhoun and wife, Emily of Ronda, two sisters, Brenda Osborne and husband, Danny of Grassy Creek and Wanda Booker of Jefferson.  Also surviving are three grandchildren, Stephen, Audrey and Skylar and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held at 2:30 pm, Saturday, March 11, 2023 at the Calhoun Cemetery by Rev. Danny Osborne.  The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm Saturday at Badger Funeral Home prior to the graveside service.
