Sonny Coldiron

Walter Worth Coldiron, Jr., better known as Sonny, age 62 of Jefferson, passed away on Friday, June 10, 2022 at his home. Mr. Coldiron was born in Ashe County on November 3, 1959 to Walter Worth Coldiron, Sr. and the late Olga “Marie” Lesoken Coldiron. In addition to his mother he was preceded in death by siblings, Brenda Henry, Beatrice Booth, Lura Wingler, Bruce Coldiron, Roger Coldiron, his parents who raised him, Rena ad Burlie Coldiron and his wife Marcia Brown Coldiron who passed May 21, 2022. Sonny was a devoted caregiver for his wife the last several years and was a loving father to Chris and Andrea. Sonny and Marcia always enjoyed going to auctions.

Mr. Coldiron is survived by: his son, Chris Coldiron and wife Andrea of N. Wilkesboro, his father, Walter Worth Coldiron, Sr. of Marion, VA, three brothers, Danny Ray Coldiron of Fleetwood, Curtis Coldiron of Marion, VA and Mike Coldiron of Jefferson, four sisters, Angela Mitchell of Honesdale, PA, Wilma Church of Crumpler, Shelia Whisnant of Wilkesboro, and Louise Steele of Jefferson; also surviving are several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 14, 2022 at 2:00 pm at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel by Pastor Shane Pardue. Burial will follow in Ashelawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 12:30-2:00 pm prior to the service at Ashelawn.
