Susan Taylor Bradshaw, age 77, of Crumpler, NC, formerly of St. Petersburg, FL, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 14, 2023, at her home. She was born on April 20, 1946, in Olean, NY, to the late Edwin Abram Taylor and Karolina Sobolewski Taylor.
Susan was a loving wife and devoted member of her community. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 47 years, George Bradshaw. Their love was a testament to the enduring power of marriage, and their memory will forever live on in the hearts of their loved ones.
Susan was a faithful member of Nathans Creek Methodist Church, where she found solace and fellowship in her faith. Her dedication to her church community was a source of inspiration to all who knew her.
Susan was an active member of several clubs that brought joy and enrichment to her life. She was a proud member of the Crumbies in Ashe County, where she formed lasting friendships and shared laughter with her fellow club members. Susan was also a valued member of the Extension Club, Mountain Hearts, and the Friends of the Library. Her commitment to these organizations demonstrated her passion for learning, community, and social engagement.
Mrs. Bradshaw is survived by: daughter, Jeanne Bradshaw of Bradenton, FL; son, George Bradshaw III of Micanopy, FL; grandson, Joshua Meadows of Bradenton, FL; sister, Beverly Blake of Jackson, MS; and brother, Bill Taylor of OH.
On September 20, 2023, Susan was laid to rest at Ashelawn Memorial Gardens, where she will rest in eternal peace alongside her beloved husband, George.
A memorial service to celebrate Susan's life will be held on Wednesday, September 27, 2023, at 2:00 pm at New River State Park in Laurel Springs, NC. Friends, family, and community members are invited to join together to remember the beautiful life of Susan Taylor Bradshaw. Her legacy of love, faith, and community involvement will continue to inspire and uplift those who were fortunate enough to know her.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Susan's honor to the organizations that were dear to her heart, American Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals or National Audubon Society.
Susan's memory will forever be cherished, and live on in the hearts of all who were touched by her kindness, love, and unwavering faith.
