Sybil Elaine Wollett Williams, age 77 of West Jefferson, NC (hometown Hollister, NC) went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Wednesday, June 21, 2023 at her residence.
She was born June 22, 1945 to the late Theodore Roosevelt Wollett and Mabel Shearin Wollett. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters and one brother. She was a member of Round Knob Baptist Church in West Jefferson, a founding member of Trinity Baptist Mission in Hollister, and volunteer at Habitat Restore. Sybil loved her family, friends, mountain life and her favorite dogs, Jack and Jill. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, sewing, piano playing, painting, thrift store & yard sale shopping, antiques, woodworking, renovating cabins and laughing. Sybil is survived by her husband, Billy Neville Williams of West Jefferson, NC & Hollister, NC; two sons, Joel (Christine) Williams of Wake Forest, NC and Andy (Melissa) Williams of Alcoa, TN; grandchildren Hunter Williams of Raleigh, Blake Williams of Raleigh, Ansley Williams of Alcoa, TN, Seth Williams of Raleigh, Lance Williams of Alcoa, TN and Zane Williams of Wake Forest; 2 brothers; many nieces, nephews & family. Family will receive friends at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 1st, 2023, followed by a Celebration of Life, 12:00 p.m. at Round Knob Baptist Church, 247 Round Knob Church Rd. West Jefferson, NC. 28694, with Pastor Larry Powers officiating. An additional Celebration of Life, officiated by Pastor Al Cooper, will take place at 11:00 am Saturday August 26, 2023 at Trinity Baptist Church, 778 Porter Rd. Hollister, NC. 27844. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Medi Home Health & Hospice, PO Box 421, Jefferson, NC. 28640 or Baptist Children’s Home of North Carolina, PO Box 338, Thomasville, NC. 27360. The family would like to extend special thanks to dear friend Jean Edmonds, nieces Lisa Wollett Arwood and Susan Neal Herndon, great nephew Ethan Williams, brother June Wollett, church family, Mary Miller, community friends and neighbors, and Medi-Home Health and Hospice for excellent love and care.
