Mr. Tam Lyle, age 79, of Jefferson died Saturday evening at the Watauga Medical Center in Boone, NC. Mr. Lyle served Ashe and surrounding counties as a carpenter. He was a veteran of WWII serving from 1943-1947. He was a member of the Glendale Springs Presbyterian Church.
Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, August 12, 2003, at the Badger Chapel by the Rev. Ted Reynolds, Rev. J.D. Walton, and Mr. Gordon Finney, CLP, pastor, Glendale Springs Presbyterian Church. Burial will follow with military rites at Ashelawn Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Lyle is survived by his wife: Mrs. Goldie Bare Lyle of the home, one son: Jerrold Lyle of Jefferson: two daughters: Janie Walton and Glenda Sue Hartzog both of West Jefferson: two sisters: Helen Rose of Glendale Springs and Zeffa Minton of Wilkesboro.
Six grandchildren and one great-grandson also survives.
