Tharon Harless Bare

Ida Tharon Harless Bare, age 90, of West Jefferson, passed away on Thursday, February 26, 2025, at Margate Health and Rehab Center. Tharon was born on June 6, 1934, to the late Ballard and Lena Campbell Harless. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Max Bare, four brothers, Rayburn Harless, Charles Harless, Eddison Harless and Larry Harless as well as two sisters, Mary Jay and Ruth Weaver.

A woman of unwavering faith, Tharon was a lifelong member of Friendly Grove Baptist Church in West Jefferson, where she sang in the church choir and served as a dedicated member of the WMU. She lived her faith daily, always ensuring those around her were cared for and never went without. Her kindness, generosity, and loving spirit were evident in all she did, especially in the way she nurtured and supported her family.

Mrs. Bare is survived by one son, Keith Bare (Teresa) of West Jefferson, one daughter, Angie Roland (Randy) of Warrensville, three brothers, Tommy Harless, Garreldean Harless and Jerry Harless all of West Jefferson, four grandchildren, Kymberlee Roland, Morgan Roland (Nathan), Shane Bare and Kayla Bare, two great-grandchildren, Camilla and Benjamin Montenegro, several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2025 at 2:00pm at Friendly Grove Baptist Church by Speaker, Jimmy Henson and Pastor, Jeff Rizoti. Burial will follow in the Friendly Grove Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00pm one hour prior to the service at the church.

Tharon’s legacy of faith, love, and service to others will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
