Thomas "Tommy" Davis

Mr. Thomas "Tommy" Martin Davis, Sr. age 68, of West Jefferson, died on Friday, April 1, 2011 at the Ashe Memorial Hospital. Mr. Davis was born on September 11, 1942 in Ashe County, NC to Bryan and Hattie Calhoun Davis. including his parents Mr. Davis was preceded in death by two brothers, Garvie Davis, Martin Davis, Sister, Earcie Holman. Mr. Davis worked for Thomasville Furniture as a supervisor and retired in 1993 after 33 years of service. He enjoyed working with his catle on the farm and working in the garden. He was a member of Buffalo Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. Tommy was a loving and faithful servant of the Lord. Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 4, 2011 at 3:00 pm at the Ashelawn Memorial Chapel by Rev. Tommy Dollar, Rev. Billy Joe Blevins. Burial will follow in Ashelawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm on Monday, April 4, 2011 at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel.  Mr. Davis is survived by: Wife, Juanita Medley Davis of West Jefferson, Daughter, Sue Miller of Lansing, Son, Thomas Martin Davis Jr. of West Jefferson, two step-sons, Scott Clonch, Jeffery Clonch both of West Jefferson, three sisters, Betty Simcox of Creston, Sister, Ruth Rogers of Milford, DE, Sister, Marie Williams of Creston, brother, Jerry Davis of Jefferson, three grandchildren, Briana Davis, Vanessa Campbell, Brandon Miller also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
