Tommy Richardson

Thomas Odell Richardson Jr., better known as Tommy, age 65, of Laurel Springs, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, July 26, 2024. Born on February 13, 1959, in Surry County, he was the son of Thomas Odell Richardson Sr. and Norma Jean Reed Richardson. He was preceded in death by his father.

Tommy was a passionate enthusiast of building and racing motorcycles and race cars, as well as flying planes and sailing. His adventurous spirit and love for life were evident in all his pursuits. A devoted member of Appalachian Church, he found great joy and fulfillment in his faith and community.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Pam Richardson; his daughter, Tiffany Curulewski (Michael) of Illinois, and his cherished grandchildren, Daniel and Madeline. Tommy also leaves behind his stepsons, Luke Miller (Sarah) and Seth Miller (Emily), all of Wilkesboro, and his step-grandchildren, Jackson, Lucy, and Raylan. He is also survived by his mother, Norma Richardson of Sparta; his sister, Debbie Richardson of Virginia; his aunts, Betty Gabriel of Rutherfordton and Pat Miller of Elkin; his uncle, Max Armentrout (Judy) of Sparta; and cousins, Beth Meade (Todd) of Sparta and Chris Gabriel of Charlotte.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 pm on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel, with Pastor Steve Ashley officiating. Burial will follow in Ashelawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday prior to the service.

Tommy will be deeply missed by all who knew him, and his memory will be cherished forever.
