Vada Black Woodie, age 84, of West Jefferson, NC, died Wednesday, May 5, 2004 at the Catawba Valley Medical Center in Hickory, NC. Mrs. Woodie was born November 2, 1919 in Ashe County to the late Noah and Ethel Black. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Carl Woodie.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, May 8, 2004 at the West Jefferson Church of Christ. Minister Tim Canup will officiate. Burial will follow in the West Jefferson Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 till 2:00 PM prior to the service.

Son: Willard Black of Hickory, NC
Sisters: Mamie Eller and Jean Miller both of Jefferson, NC and Virginia Sears of Newark, DE
2 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews also survive.
