Velma Royal

Velma Osborne Shatley Royal, age 83 of West Jefferson, died Monday, November 10, 2003 at the Ashe Living Center. Mrs. Royal was born July 7, 1920 in Ashe County to the late William and Francis Patrick Osborne.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, November 13, 2003 at the Badger Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. J. D. Walton, Rev. Doug Combs and Rev. Tommy Dollar will officiate. Burial will follow in Ashelawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 7:00 till 9:00 PM, Wednesday, November 12th at Badger Funeral Home.

4 Daughters: Sarah Severt & Mary Houck both of West Jefferson, NC
Elizabeth Walton of Crumpler, NC & Betty Dollar of Warrensville, NC

8 Sons: Ray Dean Shatley of Fort Pierce, FL, Carl Shatley of West Jefferson, NC,
Larry Shatley, of Sparta, NC, Robert Royal of North Wilkesboro, NC, Glenn Royal of Jefferson, David Royal of Wilkesboro, Gene and Victor Royal both of West Jefferson, NC

15 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, several nieces & nephews also survive.
