Virginia Sturgill

Virginia Brown Sturgill age 87 of Islandton, SC died Sunday, October 6, 2002 at the Roper Hospital. Mrs. Sturgill was born on June 22, 1915 in Crumpler, NC to Walterand Nora Edwards Brown. She retired from the Bata Show Company and was a member of the Missionary Baptist Faith. She had moved to Islandton, SC with her late sister, Alma Moore, with whom she had resided for 51 years. Her husband, Vance Sturgill preceded her in death, two sons Freedie and Lake Sturgill, brother Vince Brown, two sisters Dot Weaver and Cashie Moore.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday, October 10, 2002 at 11:00 A.M. at the Badger Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. David Fox will officiate. Burial will follow in the Piney Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday, October 9, 2002 from 6:00-9:00 P.M. at Badger Funeral Home. The family will be at the home of Phil and Marlene Weaver, 783 Garvey Rd., Piney Creek, NC.

Brothers: Spencer Brown of Crumpler, NC: Garland Brown of Augusta, GA
Burl Brown of Piney Creek, NC

Sister: Logean Fox of Darlington, MD

Several nieces and nephews also survive.
