Virginia Testerman Weaver, age 88 of Warrensville, passed away Tuesday, June 21, 2022 at Margate Health & Rehab Center. Mrs. Weaver was born May 24, 1934 in Ashe County to the late Rev. Luther Testerman and Vertie Rebecca Jones Testerman. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, John Weaver, son, Mark Weaver, brothers, Sam, Ray and Robert Testerman, sisters, Ruth Eldreth, Ruby Eldreth and Mildred Thomas, half-siblings, Lyda Testerman, Stella Stanley and Ethel Weaver. Virginia was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church. She was very creative, she loved to sew, do crafts and paint. She also enjoyed working in her vegetable and flower gardens, playing bingo and shopping for clothes and jewelry.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 pm Friday, June 24, 2022 at Pleasant View Baptist Church by Rev. Dwight Shepherd. Mrs. Weaver will lie in state from 2 -2:30 prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow in the Weaver Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 -7 pm Thursday, June 23rd at Badger Funeral Home.
Mrs. Weaver is survived by her daughter, Brenda Weaver and husband Roger Norvell of Lexington, KY, sister, Ella Mae Brooks of Warrensville, brother, Ralph Testerman of Warrensville, granddaughter, Jessica Weaver Blevins, daughter-in-law, Jane Weaver of Warrensville and great-grandchildren, Jake Weaver and Chase Blevins. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Weaver Cemetery, c/o Brenda Weaver, 2385 Dogwood Trace Blvd., Lexington, KY 40514.
