Wade Henry Phillips, age 85 of Hickory, formerly of the Creston Community died Wednesday, March 24, 2004 at the Catawba Medical Center.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, March 27, 2004 at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel, Jefferson. Rev. Reeves Jones and Rev. Lloyd Day will officiate. Burial will follow in Ashelawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from on Friday from 7:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel.
Mr. Phillips was born on July 23, 1918 in Creston, son of the late Joseph Harrison Phillips and Wilamena Winebarger Phillips. He married Mary Louise Phillips. She preceded him in death in 2002. He was also preceded in death by a son, Cecil Wade Phillips. He owned and operated the W.H. Phillips grocery store in Creston, and later owned a sawmill there. He was a member of Three Forks Baptist Church.
