Walter Max Sharpe, age 77 of Warrensville passed away Wednesday, May 4, 2022 at his home. Mr. Sharpe was born June 28, 1944 in Ashe County to the late Walter and Beatrice Sharpe. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his wife, Loretta Sharpe, brother, Gib Sharpe and sisters, Shirley Eldreth and Lola Jean Turnmire.
Max retired from the Car Center, owned by the late Paul Elliott, where he started working at the age of 14 and stayed a faithful employee for 57 years. Max loved hunting, fishing, drinking coffee and smoking cigarettes. He loved spending as much time as he could at his old home place, but most of all he loved his family very much.
Funeral services will be held at 7:00 pm Saturday, May 7, 2022 at Badger Funeral Home Chapel by Minister Danny Miller. The family will receive friends from 5 – 7 pm prior to the service.
Mr. Sharpe is survived by, 4 daughters, Jatanna Sharpe of Wilkesboro, Suzanna Baldwin (Danny) of Jefferson, Kena Trainor (Dennis) of Lansing and Kelly Matney (Tim) of Wilkesboro, 2 sons, Keith Hart and Gilbert Sharpe both of Warrensville, 4 sisters, Barbara Hill of Easley, SC, Wilma Blevins of Crumpler, Elaine Rodriquez of Jefferson and Golda Sharpe of Hudson and 1 brother, John Sharpe of Lansing. 6 grandchildren, Marixa Hart, Justin Lyons, Kaitlyn Hembree, Colby Baldwin, Dennis Trainor III and Logan Sharpe, 14 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Flowers will be appreciated or memorials may be made to the family c/o Badger Funeral Home, 300 E. Main St., West Jefferson, NC 28694.
