William Glen Baker

William Glen Baker age 85 of Fleetwood died on Saturday, September 9, 2017 at Margate Health and Rehab Center. Mr. Baker was born in Ashe County to William Taft and Virgil Church Baker. Mr. Baker was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Stella Ruth Baker, two brothers, Dean Baker and Cline Baker. He worked for Kraft Food and the cheese plant for 20 years, and was a farmer and handyman.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 14, 2017 at 2:00 pm at Old Fields Baptist Church by Rev. Larry Powers. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1-2 pm prior to the service at the church.

Mr. Baker is survived by: one daughter, Linda Taylor and husband Kyle of Charlotte, one son, D. Wayne Baker and wife Myra of Charlotte, three brothers, Arvil Baker of Fleetwood, Austin Baker of West Jefferson and Arvin Baker of Gastonia, two sisters, Imalee Baker Golds of Fleetwood and Arlene Baker Goodman of Canton, one grandson, David Wayne Baker and several nieces and nephews also survive.
