Rev. Willis Donald Rash, age 86 of Creston passed away on Sunday, July 7, 2019 at Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care. Rev. Rash was born on June 20, 1933 in Lancaster, PA to Roby Eugene and Bonnie Elizabeth Latham Rash. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, and four brothers.
Rev. Rash was a member of Ben Bolen Baptist Church. He was an ordained Baptist minister and a former pastor of the church. He was known as a hard worker.
Rev. Rash is survived by: his wife, Goldia Snyder Rash; one son, Frankie Rash and wife Kathy of West Jefferson, the Buffalo community; one daughter, Debbie Potter and husband John of Mountain City, TN; five grandchildren, Shannon Marie Goins, Stephen Mitchel Gentry, Jessica Lynn Phillips, Keisha Leanna Gawlik, and Amanda Leigh Carpenter; five great-grandchildren, Lucas Ryan Phillips, Macie Woodie, Gracie Goins, Haley Carpenter, and Skylar Carpenter; also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 11, 2019 at 2:00 pm at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel by Rev. Lloyd Day and Rev. Elijah London. Rev . Rash will lie in state one hour prior to the funeral service. Burial will follow in Ashelawn Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, July 10, 2019 at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care, 902 Kirkwood St. NW, Lenoir, NC 28645.
