Wilma Jean (Jones) Redmond

Wilma Jean Jones Redmond, 65, of West Jefferson, NC, passed away on Saturday, June 19, 2021, at Ashe Memorial Hospital. Born July 12, 1955, she was the daughter of the late John Paul Jones and Gladys Miller Jones.

She is survived by her children Laura Allen and son-in-law Jack of Portland, OR and Scotty Wiles and daughter-in-law Jay of Portland OR, grandchild, Landon Allen of Portland OR, sister Lois Osborne and brother-in-law Jim. She was preceded in death by her husband, Tim Redmond, and by her siblings, Ronnie Jones and Tony Jones.

Wilma loved the North Carolina coast and enjoyed being at the beach, smelling the salty ocean air. She loved flowers and plants of all kinds, watching Nascar and Basketball, and being in touch with family and her lifelong dear friends. She will be remembered for her warm smile, kind heart and her strong faith in God. She loved her church, Midway Baptist, loved to sing hymns, enjoyed reading her Bible and sharing verses that she applied to our everyday lives.  She cared deeply for her family and they were never far from her thoughts.

A memorial service will be held at Midway Baptist Church in West Jefferson, NC on Monday, June 28th, 2021 at 3:00pm. The family will receive friends from 2:00pm to 3:00pm prior to the memorial service at Midway Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her honor to Midway Baptist Church.
